Chris Daughtry, 41, broke the silence this Saturday (13) and spoke for the first time about the loss of his stepdaughter Hannah Price, 25. She was found dead on Friday (12) at her home in Nashville, USA, but The causes are still unknown.

The former “American Idol” contestant shared a photo of his stepdaughter smiling at an Instagram selfie and wrote a story about her loss. He said he’s still processing the last 24 hours.

“I am absolutely broken and heartbroken,” wrote Daughtry, before revealing another loss in his life. “I recently lost my mom to cancer, but I was blessed with the chance to say goodbye and I was processing it privately.”

The musician said that he did not have the same opportunity to say goodbye to his stepdaughter. He thanked them for “the kind words of condolences” and said he has now taken the time to be with his family to try to heal “from this devastating loss.”

“Hannah, I love you. I miss you. I wish I could hold you. It hurts so deeply,” he wrote.

Hannah is the daughter of the first marriage of Deanna Daughtry, wife of the singer. Her mother said on social media that she is awaiting the autopsy that will determine “how Hannah suffered the injuries that caused her death”.

The musician was in Atlanta, where he would perform, when he learned of the death. Hannah and her brother Griffin, 23, are Deanna’s children from a previous relationship. Chris and Deanna, who met in 2000, also share twins Adalynn Rose and Noah James, 10.

After the young woman’s death, Daughtry’s band communicated the suspension of the schedule on Instagram, where they stated that they still don’t know if it is a cancellation or postponement of the shows. In the statement, they claim that Hannah’s death was sudden and that investigations are ongoing.
