BBB 25: Diego and Daniele Hypolito are confirmed as a duo in the reality show

This Thursday (9), Globo announced the names of Diego and Daniele Hypolito as participants in the 25th edition of Big Brother Brasil.

In the program, which this year is played in doubles, the brothers will play together. Daniele, 40, and Diego, 38, are Olympic gymnastics athletes born in Santo André, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo.

The two were pioneers in the dissemination of the sport in Brazil. Daniele competed in five Olympics and was the first Brazilian to win an individual medal at the Gymnastics World Championship, in 2001.

Diego competed in three Olympics and was a silver medalist at the Rio edition in 2016. He is also the first male gymnast from South America to win a medal at world championships and has won 63 medals at World Cups.

Last Monday (6), Daniele was dismissed from the position of special advisor she held at the Rio de Janeiro Department of Sport and Leisure, which raised suspicions that she would join the BBB.

The gymnast was Brazilian champion more than ten times, represented Brazil in three editions of the Gymnastics World Cup, participated in all editions of the Olympic Games from 2000 to 2016 and competed in five Pan American Games between 1999 and 2015. She was also nine times senior national champion, overall champion of the 2002 South American Games and overall bronze medalist at the 2003 Pan American Games.

DIFFICULT START

Children of bus driver Wagner and seamstress Geni, the brothers experienced financial difficulties in their childhood. When the family moved to Rio de Janeiro to take advantage of Daniele’s talent, Diego started working as a street vendor with his father. At the age of seven, inspired by his sister, he began his career in sport, which until then was not widespread among men.

Currently, the brothers dedicate themselves to the Hypólito Institute, in the North Zone of Rio, which offers gymnastics classes to around 200 children, and perform with Circo Abracadabra.

Daniele is married to Fábio Castro, with whom she already participated in Power Couple, on Record, in 2021. Diego is entering BBB single. “My sister is a very fair and decent person, who is always looking to improve. And to help me too. She is a great partner”, describes Diego.

“My brother is very friendly. He has a soft laugh, he’s happy, fun, it’s great to be with him. Furthermore, he has a heart that doesn’t fit inside his chest”, says Daniele.
