Preta Gil talks about her health in her first video after surgery: ‘Living one day at a time’

Preta Gil used social media this Friday (10) to update fans about her health status. It was the first time that the singer appeared in a video after a 20-hour surgery to remove tumors: “I’m here living one day at a time.”

In the images, Preta detailed that the post-operative period has been “difficult” and that she will have a long recovery journey ahead. “Hello, my loves! I’m here in the hospital recovering from the surgery. A very extensive, very important surgery. It has a very difficult post-operative period. I’m here living one day at a time, fighting,” he said.

She also warned that she has been doing her best to stay well and leave the hospital as soon as possible. “But there’s a journey of recovery ahead, a lot of rehabilitation. Everything will be fine. I’m here firm and strong. I’ll be home soon, God willing,” he added.

Preta has been hospitalized since December 18th at Hospital Sírio-Libanês, in São Paulo, where she underwent surgery to remove four tumors discovered in August last year: two nodules in the lymph nodes, one in the ureter and metastasis in the peritoneum (membrane which protects the abdominal organs).

The singer and businesswoman was diagnosed with a tumor in her intestine in January 2023. At the end of that year, she announced that the disease was in remission, but had to resume treatment a year and a half later when she discovered, during tests, that the cancer had returned. .
