One of the celebrities who lost her home in the Los Angeles fire, Paris Hilton published a video on her social media showing the wreckage of her home.
“I’m here in what used to be our home. The pain in my heart is indescribable. When I saw the news, I was in shock, I couldn’t process it. But now, being here and seeing it with my own eyes, I feel my heart in a thousand pieces,” wrote Paris.
In the video, the socialite walks through the ruins of what used to be her mansion, under dense smoke and with pieces of furniture and walls still burning.
A resident of Pacific Palisades, an upscale neighborhood that was one of the hardest hit by the fires, Paris lived in the house with her husband, Carter Reum, and their two children, Phoenix and London.
“This house wasn’t just a roof. It was where we dreamed, laughed and created the most beautiful memories as a family. It was here that Phoenix, with her little hands, made art that I will treasure forever. Here, there was love in every corner. See- reduced to ashes is devastating”, continued the artist.
“What hurts most is knowing that this story is not just mine. So many people lost everything. It’s not just ceilings and walls, it’s memories that made these houses our homes. And despite so much pain, I know I’m lucky because my babies and my pets are safe. That’s what matters most and I’m holding on to gratitude,” he wrote.
“I am beyond grateful to the firefighters, first responders and volunteers who are putting themselves at risk. To those who sent love, prayers and kindness, you reminded me that even in the ashes there is beauty in this world. And whoever is going through this pain, know that you are not alone. We are in this together. We will rebuild, heal and come back stronger.”
“Let this be a reminder to stay close to the ones you love and enjoy the moments. Life can change in an instant and the love shared is what really matters. Sending all my love to anyone who is hurting right now,” concluded Paris.
The list of celebrities who lost everything in the mega fire also includes Adam Brody, Leighton Meester, Ben Affleck, Anna Faris, John Legend, Billy Crystal, Anthony Hopkins and Harrison Ford.
The death toll rose to ten and around 200,000 people were forced to leave their homes.
