Dreams are a complex affair for the sleep of each of us. Some believe that they are interpretable and even prophetic, others accept the psychological approach, that something is trying to tell us the subconscious about our lives.

Below we look at 5 dreams that you’ve probably all seen and what they mean according to experts.

You see they are chasing you

If you see such dreams, you may be trying to avoid something in your daily life. Tony Crisp, author of the Dream Dictionary, says they may indicate a desire to escape your fears or desires. The “key” to understanding what such a dream might mean depends in part on the identity of your pursuer.

If it is an animal: you may be repressing your anger, your passions and other emotions,

If it is an unknown stalker: perhaps the dream is related to an experience from your childhood or an old psychological trauma

If it’s a person of the opposite sex: according to Crisp, this means you’re afraid of love or “haunted” by an old relationship.

You see that you are falling

A classic dream of anxiety that means something is wrong in our lives. We may need to reconsider a choice or change direction in some area. “Dreaming about falling is very common. It symbolizes the fears we have, perhaps failure in our professional or love life,” says Russell Grant, author of “The Illustrated Dream Dictionary.”

You see someone die

Another common theme is death, which can be particularly upsetting to us. We may see a loved one die or ourselves die. According to popular interpretations, these dreams reflect our anxiety about change or fear of the unknown.
“Like death, change can be scary because we don’t know what’s ‘on the other side.’ For this reason, the dreaming mind equates change with death,” notes Laurie Lowenberg in her book “Dream on It: Unlock Your Dreams, Change Your Life.”

You see you are writing an exam

The dreams we see that we are writing exams are also common. According to Greg Hamilton-Parker, author of “The Hidden Meaning of Dreams,” they may have to do with a fear of failure. “Exams are stressful experiences in which we are confronted with our weaknesses. To dream that we fail an exam, that we are late to the test center, or that we have not prepared, reveals that we feel unprepared for the difficulties of our real life,” he says.

You see you are flying

These are exciting, even liberating dreams. However, they can also be scary, especially for those who are afraid of heights. These dreams often have two very different aspects: they can be associated with feelings of freedom and independence, but they can also indicate tendencies to flee or escape from reality. “We usually see ourselves flying alone, which is associated with independence. But because we often feel pleasure as well, flight may represent our sexuality, especially as it relates to freedom from social conventions and constraints.”
