Maintenance, restoration and promotion work of the Kladeos Thermos Complex, located on the eastern bank of Kladeus, a tributary of Alfios, in Ancient Olympia, begins the Ministry of Culture, as part of the strategic plan for the restoration and promotion of the Roman monuments. .

Thermes Kladeou are located on the east bank of the River Kladeou, outside the western enclosure of the sanctuary.

The monument occupies a surface of about 400 sqm. Part of the complex has not been saved as it has been seduced by the waters of Clade.

The entrance to the building is on the south side to the complex of the Roman guesthouses, to which it is connected.

It is a bath complex built in 100 AD, in place of the 5th century BC swim tank.

The bathroom had a hot bathrooms (Caldarium), a lukewarm bath (Tepidarium) and a cold bath (Frigidarium) while the floors of the classrooms adorned extremely mosaics, some of which have been in good shape to date.

The work

According to studies, it is foreseen to retrieve the sites of Cladeos in order to restore the outline of the floor plan, as well as the recovery of sections of flooring of the drifting areas.

The floors of the heated spaces are booked at the original level, the rainwater is run by the floors of the monument, the wall restorations are foreseen during the ancient construction system, as well as the construction of new access.

The route will cross the voted floors- Maintenance and maintenance work was carried out during the years 2002-2003 by the Department of Conservation of Ancient and Modern Monuments of the Ministry of Culture- and will then pass through the hot spaces and the locker room. In order to keep the conductor of the Swimming Tank of classical times, a scalable database is foreseen in this area.

It is also foreseen to highlight the toilet by maintaining its ceramic elements, the transfer of part of the fence to allow the monument to be recovered and installing information signs along the visitors route. The static study includes rehabilitation proposals by completing the caverns, crack repair, construction of the sloping slope of the slopes, levels and level configurations.
