Bill Gates, 69, found love again. The founder of Microsoft spoke for the first time, in an interview with “Today Show” (NBC) on Tuesday (4), about his girlfriend, Paula Hurd.
“I’m dating seriously. Her name is Paula. We’re having a lot of fun together, we went to the Olympics and everything else,” said the billionaire.
Rumors about the couple’s approach began in 2023. Paula Hurd, 60, is a widow of another technology billionaire, Mark Hurd, CEO of Oracle, killed in 2019.
Already Bill Gates divorced in 2021 of Melinda Gates, with whom he was married for 25 years.
Discreet, the new couple never talked about the relationship, but has been seen together publicly on occasion, such as at the Breakthrough Scientific Award ceremony and Jeff Bezos engagement in Italy.
In a recent interview with The Times of London, Bill Gates called his divorce Melinda a “a mistake” that he regretted a lot. After the negative repercussion of the sentence, he corrected himself in the Today Show: “Although the divorce was bad, we have our three children, the work we did together and, even knowing it would not last forever, I would do it all over again,” he said .
Bill and Melinda are parents of Jennifer, Rory and Phoebe and grandparents of Leila and Mia. The former couple founded in 2000 the philanthropic entity Bill and Melinda Gates, currently the third largest NGO in the world. Melinda left the foundation in May 2024.
