On Sunday, January 26, the narrative of Queen Amalia continues, with Mars Portosalte and the philologist Vana came in to highlight the last moments of her reign.

Despite the warnings, Amalia insisted on a tour of the Peloponnese, seeking popular acceptance, but was confronted with the guard’s uprising in Vonitsa.

Her years in Greece were marked by homelessness, political crises and attacks on the monarchy. When the royal couple was banished, Amalia was never able to overcome the loss of the country she loved.

A strong personality, at a time when changed, Amalia, with her romantic ideas, tried to bring about changes, but often collided with the traditions and interests of the time. At the end of her life, she remained deeply linked to Greece, describing her exile as unbearable loss, while constantly discussing the country with those who visited her in Bavaria.
