Unidos da Tijuca announced on Monday that he will not have drum queen after the holder of the position, Lexa, losing the baby.
The singer had already left office when she was admitted to the hospital on January 21, with preeclampsia staff.
The singer lost her baby, Sofia, on February 5th. She had been born on the 2nd, premature and at high risk condition. With respect to the artist’s mourning, the school decided not to replace it on the avenue.
“Unidos da Tijuca will not have drums for Carnival 2025. Out of respect, consideration and affection, Lexa will not be replaced in the parade of this carnival,” the school announced via Instagram.
In a letter published on Monday (10), Lexa spoke about the 17 days she spent hospitalized, facing serious complications, including Hellp syndrome, a rare condition that affects the liver and blood platelets. Despite medical care and well-accompanied prenatal care, the evolution of the disease has compromised your health and that of your daughter.
“I felt every kick, talked to my belly, idealized and dreamed so many beautiful things for us. I did everything, but my preeclampsia was very early and serious. Another day and I wouldn’t be here to tell even my story, Not even hers, “wrote the singer.
Sofia was even hospitalized in a neonatal ICU, where she fought for life in the early days. Lexa reported the pain of seeing her in the incubator and having to say goodbye prematurely. “Each dirt shoe in its funeral was as if my life and my dreams are going together,” he said.
