It was solemnly and with all formality opened, on the evening of Thursday, March 17, at the Municipal Cinema, the curtain of the 37th Panhellenic Amateur Theater Festival of Karditsa organized by the Association of Cultural Associations of the Prefecture.
After two years of absence due to the pandemic, the Festival returned energetically and for 10 days the heart of the amateur theater will beat in Karditsa.
The evening opened with the greeting of the President of the Association of Cultural Associations Manolis Stergiopoulou who, inter alia, stated the following: “Our life and the theater…. Our life has never stopped gaining value through the Theater! To transform the magical space of the Stage from a diplomatic ground of our real – but perhaps not so real – life, into a burnt zone, where the light of the theatrical act has burned everything on stage and the sun of theatrical truth blinds the viewer’s gaze at the square. As never before this year I feel like a real Revolution this ten days of the Theater in our city. As a recovery of lost time, as a reconnection with the social life in our city, which was interrupted so abruptly and, indeed, how strong a bet it is whether it will start again, because we are moving away from the obvious: socialization, celebration and collective joys ».
The Deputy Regional Governor of Karditsa Costas Nousios He spoke about a renowned institution through which, for ten days, the heart of theatrical magic will beat in Karditsa, with a rich program and the participation of notable personalities.
The Deputy Mayor of Karditsa Stefanos Theologis stressed that the Festival promotes our history, culture and identity and the Municipality of Karditsa is always a supporter in this effort
The beginning of the Festival was announced by the Regional Governor of Thessaly, Costas Agorastos, emphasizing that the Panhellenic Festival of Amateur Theater of Karditsa is one of the longest-lived cultural institutions. “Karditsa comes out in front of the Arts and leaves a deep imprint,” he said characteristically.
A representative of the Metropolitan of Thessaly and Fanariofersala also addressed a greeting Mr. Timothy.
Messages of good luck were sent by the Minister of Justice Costas Tsiaras and Members George Kotsos and Asimina Skondra.
This was followed by a special performance music with the collaboration of two very talented artists, the renowned improvised musician and percussionist Nikos Touliatos, as well as the popular actor and musician Giannis Zouganelis which turned out to be the ideal “summit” for this year’s opening ceremony.
The artists married in an unique way the explosive rhythm, the comic element, the nostalgia but also favorite melodies, thrilling the audience.
Giannis Zouganelis was accompanied by the composer Thalis Triantafyllou, Evanthia Kritikou in song and the musician and singer Alexandros Zouganelis.
In direct collaboration with Nikos Touliatos was the Italian percussion performer of Mediterranean music Simone Mongelli!
The Music School of Karditsa collaborated with them at some point, with their teacher, conductor Elias Pappas.
The impressive scene was edited by Vassilis Tsikrikas.
The visual art in the Poster and the cover of the program is the work of the late visual artist and painter Kyriakos Katzourakis whose wife, Katia Gerou, actress, attended the opening by speaking very warmly about the Festival.
The Festival, which is dedicated to the playwright Iakovos Kampanellis and will last until March 26, is organized by the Association of Cultural Associations of the Prefecture of Karditsa in co-organization with the Region of Thessaly-Regional Unit of Karditsa, the Municipality of Karditsa, the Municipality of Karditsa. .D.)
