Arlindo Cruz’s wife says her husband is a ‘miracle’ and remembers five years of stroke

The wife of singer Arlindo Cruz, Babi Cruz took to social media to remember the five years since her husband’s stroke. Since then, he has undergone 14 surgeries.

In an emotional report, Babi, sitting next to Arlindo, gave more details of how his life has been at that time. “For me it’s a rebirth. When you blink your eyes you see that your life is different. The feeling of fear of losing the person you love. For me it’s a victory, yes”, she begins.

“Five years, 14 surgeries, five of which were head surgeries, pulmonary embolism, all kinds of mishaps, given up by the doctors”, he amends.

Despite slowly recovering, Arlindo even regressed in treatment and has gone through better times than the current one. But none of this makes Babi lose faith.

“We are always willing to start over and give this wonderful human being, my husband, father of my children, moments of pure ecstasy of love”, she says.

At the end of a four-minute video, she reveals that the process was not easy and says she found herself in “a hole so deep that it’s after rock bottom”. “Every little finger move for us is a great victory. He is a miracle. He lying in this bed, with his conscience shaken, teaches another reality of life.”

In September 2021, Arlindinho, Arlindo’s son, gave an interview to journalist Rica Perrone’s YouTube channel about the stroke suffered by his father and his addiction to cocaine. The samba singer suffered a stroke in 2017, was hospitalized for a year and three months and is now recovering at home.

Arlindinho told the journalist that he never talked about his father’s addiction because he wanted to wait for his sister to grow a little more. “He said that he was already being treated [do vício] on cocaine. I always knew, he told me when he was 11, 12 years old”, said Arlindinho

The singer said that Arlindo Cruz was always good for everyone, the best father and that he was only bad for himself. According to Arlindinho, his father is a wonderful guy, but he had an Achilles heel, a weakness: addiction.
