Lexa No Fantastic: ‘The liver went bankrupt and had nowhere to go’

“The impression I have is that there will not be even a day of my life that I will not cry,” said singer Lexa, 29, in participation in Fantástico (Globo) this Sunday (23). “They said, ‘In medicine, we choose the mother.’ I said: I go to my limit, if possible. She announced the death of her daughter with actor Ricardo Vianna on the 10th. Baby Sofia was born on February 2, but could not resist and died 3 days later. Lexa faced a high-risk pregnancy due to a rare picture of early preeclampsia with Hellp syndrome, a rare condition that affects the liver and blood platelets.

According to the artist, the exams gave good results, with some changes to high blood pressure, until it underwent an exam that identified pre-disclaiming for preeclampsia. The only way to contain the advancement of the condition is childbirth, but Lexa tried to take the pregnancy forward to where he endured.

“I felt a very strong stomach pain. My headache was no longer, my hand was already in a way that was no longer closing … The liver started to go bankrupt and had nowhere to go, nor does For me, not even for her, “he told the Sunday program.

According to Drauzio, preeclampsia is the leading cause of maternal death in Brazil. One of Lexa’s motivations to participate in the program was to warn of the severity of the disease. “People need to understand how serious a preeclampsia is,” he said.

“I understood that in life we ​​have no control over tomorrow, but I believe that good things will happen,” he said. The singer said she will try to “join the pieces of the puzzles without pieces” and resume her career.

Preeclampsia happens when there is a malformation in the placenta, making blood circulation difficult and impairing the arrival of nutrients and oxygen to the fetus. The body then increases the pregnant woman’s blood pressure to keep the blood cycle in the placenta and may cause hypertension.

The condition can cause various complications. One is Hellp’s syndrome, which causes red cell fragmentation in circulation, lifting enzymes in the liver and platelet fall.

This can lead to a general coagulation framework, leading organs such as kidney and liver to bankruptcy. The risk of serious complications for mother and baby increases. Sofia was even admitted to a neonatal ICU, but did not survive.

Before the birth of Sofia, Lexa had communicated his departure from Carnival for health reasons. The singer canceled the Lexa block in Rio de Janeiro and gave up the post of drums from Unidos da Tijuca, in Marquis of Sapucaí.
