Chosen for a prominent role near Globo’s seven soap opera, Humberto Morais, 31, may seem like a new face, but it has luggage. The actor, who has undergone productions such as Poliana Moça (SBT) and Sutura (Prime Video), will be Marlon, Clara Moneke’s romantic pair in “Dona de me”.
Paulistano and graduated in performing arts since 2017, he built a diverse trajectory in audiovisual, passing through soap operas, series of Netflix and Star+. “I was living, working hard and, when I saw, my ways took me to television,” says the actor in an interview with F5.
Although he started in the theater, he had to adapt during the pandemic, migrating to audiovisual with minor advertising and later in the SBT’s soap opera. “When the soap opera was over, I didn’t know what my next step would be, I turned to the theater or continued to test,” he recalls.
For him, the big turn came with suture, Prime Video series. “The project was intense, with months of preparation and recordings; it was a remarkable experience,” he reveals. “It was beautiful. I was a fan of a part of the cast and became a fan of the other.”
Morais played the protagonist Icarus, a young newly graduated doctor from the outskirts of Sao Paulo, and says he was surprised to be called to a test alongside Claudia Abreu. “It is an example of discipline and this reaffirmed to me that being demanding with my work is not a defect, but a quality.”
Now Humberto lives another challenge: his first prominent role in Globo. The invitation to the “owner of me,” he said, came after years of testing at the station. “Now the planets have aligned themselves: the character, the moment, the director, the author …”, says the artist, who celebrates the opportunity to integrate a project that he considers “giant”.

Without revealing many details of the plot, he states that it has been a challenging process. “It is being very laborious, but a delight. The most important thing is when the production embraces you and gives you support. It reassures your mind to can surrender completely,” he says.
Recordings in the heat of Rio de Janeiro have also been a new experience. Humberto plays and says he is used to the rainy climate of Sao Paulo. “This is very hot, you can’t romanticize Rio de Janeiro in this part,” he jokes.
He reports that high temperatures have been complicated in everyday life. “My body is very hot, and I keep sweating. I can’t get used to it.” Despite the difficulties, he says trying to face the situation with lightness during filming.
The actor does not hide the happiness of being on the scene with the cast of the new soap opera of seven and to play with Clara Moneke. “I only have compliments for this generation of actors, there are a lot of people studied and with the same purpose of living the work,” he celebrates.
Humberto also reports being satisfied with the representativeness of black people in “owner of me”. “We need more room to tell our experiences. We also cry, have fun. I want to see more of this at audiovisual.”
