“I hurt my knee, but I’m here,” said singer Fafá de Belém, on Saturday night (1st), at the Salvador Carnival, during a presentation in the Culture Triiio, led by singer Margareth Menezes.
“The invitation of Maga doesn’t say ‘no’,” explained Fafá de Belém on the electric trio. “With knee or without knee I play,” said Para singer, always excited.
“Fafá has something interesting: she started her career here in Bahia,” said Margareth. “50 years ago, at the Vila Velha Theater, and I left in the Jacu Block. Me and Divina Valéria,” added Fafá. “Sing in the jacu block, man, O Praí,” joked Minister Margareth Menezes.
The Jacu Block was a string bloc that, in the 1970s, was concentrated in Campo Grande, in Salvador, having in the car open the singer and actress Divina Valéria, one of the pioneers of transformism in Brazil.
In the Culture Triiio were also as guests of Margareth Menezes the singers Márcia Castro and Angolan Pongo, artist of the new generation World Music, considered the queen of Kuduro.
This Sunday (2), in Pelourinho, Margareth Menezes, who is also Minister of Culture, but is on vacation, will perform during the Oscar ceremony.
But the show will take a break for the audience to follow, in a screen installed in Largo do Pelourinho, the award of the three categories in which the Brazilian movie “I’m still here” will compete.
