The Museum of London received from a non -profit organization in the US donation of 20 million English pounds and more than 14,000 archaeological finds from the Roman era.

Donation by Bloomberg Philanthropies is the largest private to date. In addition, this is the largest donation of archaeological finds made at the UK Museum.

The findings were discovered during the construction of the Bloomberg European headquarters in City, London, between 2012 and 2014, according to the BBC.

Ancient artifacts include Britain’s largest collection of Roman plates and the first written reference to London,

The Museum plans to present them in public exhibition when its new facilities in Smithfield in Central London are inaugurated next year

Sharon Eimnd’s director of the Museum of London described the collection of objects as “an important gift that links the past to the future and which will be a lasting legacy for London”.

Bloomberg Philanthropies manages the humanitarian activities of the World Bloomberg Financial News Organization and its founder, former New York Mayor and businessman Michael R. Bloomberg.

London Mayor Sandik Khan said: “Bloomberg has been a huge London supporter in the field of culture and this is an excellent example of a public and private sectors that work together to help implement bold plans for the future of our capital.”

In September, Sandik Khan and City of London Corporation announced that they will pledge 25 million pounds for the museum in addition to their previous contributions.
