Borderline, the Roof Electronic Music Festival, is here for the 14th year on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th April at the new Industrial Areas of Onassis Ready, in the heart of Renti
Sounds at the edges. New space. Together we give life to Onassis Ready, the new Onassis Foundation building. Borderline, the roofing festival of the roof, is here again. For music, for the moment, for everyone.
Two days, two scenes, 15 dj sets and live performances, Takis flagship works and a sound labyrinth that goes beyond the boundaries of music and the city.
For its 14th year, the Onassis Foundation’s Borderline Festival welcomes us to the new Industrial Areas of Onassis Ready, in the heart of Renti, giving the public a first taste of the city’s new landmark. For two days (April 11 & 12), with an excellent vision moving at the forefront of modern experimental electronic music and Takis’s flagship works by Onassis Collection to interact with industrial space and music lineup, enhancing the experience of the explosive festival. Aesthetics party, bar, atmospheric corners for rest, scaffolding and musical surprises that will stir up us.
This year’s Borderline version takes us into a magnificent dual experience condensed in the dipole: Art Soundscape vs Underground Club. On the ground floor Art Soundscape we will find Ehohroma’s atmospheric sound sound, the changing, transcendent live compositions of Viki Steiri, the avant -garde mixture by Tribal Wave and Mr. Clarinet, Pinna Bounce’s experimental musical narratives, DJ Sex in one of his rare appearances, as well as Turbo Teeth’s disadvantage.
Can an electromagnetic sphere compete with a synthesizer? A bronze flower to turn to the source of sound? Should the sound waves change course through an iron coil? On the ground floor, the public will have the opportunity to experience a selection of the incompatible and insurmountable motor sculptures of the legendary self -taught Greek artist Takis (worldly Panagiotis Vassilakis). A selective mixing of audiovisual stimuli that exceeds the boundaries of a DJ set.
The audio experience continues in the basement. Here, the situation is underground and the space turns into a club. An elaborate and obsessively processed set that allows the mind, body and soul to live everything in intensity. The world -renowned craftsman of psychedelic and hypnotic electronic music Donato Dozzy and the adventurous heiress of British tradition Joy Orbison (both appear in Greece for the first time) meet Aurora Halal’s visionary Techno, the explosive blend of Breakbeats, Electro and Idm Mader TRIBAL IGGOR CAVALERA IGGOR CAVALERA, AMR’s Drone-Nooise Music, Forensis Audiovisual Performance (Forensic Architecture) X Bill Kouligas, the legendary co-founder of Basic Channel, Moritz von Oswald, who presents his latest circulation, “Silencio”, our own Echo Canyon from Athens with its futuristic sound approaches, as well as the rapidly rising Madam X with its characteristic blend of all kinds of bass.
The curators of the festival say: “The sound, when it is torn and launched, creates spaces inside. It can become a wall, a path or a hatch. Deforms, expands and condenses distances. The sound creates diodes – between bodies, between meanings, between places and stories. It creates a new, temporary reality around the listener, a miraculous mirrors room, where the infinity, the repetition and the paradox coexist with bright, electrified versions of the body, the desire, of their will and their place as nodes in a sympathetic system of stories and stories. The Borderline 2025, hosted in the new Industrial Areas of Onassis Ready, creates an audio maze to sink the audience within it and will contribute to Takis’s electric sculptures on the ground floor, which cut the breath. With the power of sound alone, it builds rooms in rooms, hidden paths, constantly changing outbreaks of exploration, tension and liberation, where listeners can lose and find themselves again and again. “
The first day of Borderline 2025 combines dynamic dance sounds with brain experimentation. In the ground level, Ehohroma opens the night by building atmospheric, hypnotic soundtrack through field recordings, analog textures and repetitive patterns. The composer Viki Steiri presents her changing, transcendent live compositions. Following is Mr. Clarinet with an avant -garde mixture of Tribal Wave and Industrial Electronics. At Basement, Donato Dozzy presents his elaborate and obsessively elaborate set in Greece for the first time, weaving complex, hypnotic and dynamic rhythms. Aurora Halal presents her visionary approach to the dark, euphoric, playful and emotional techno. Mad Miran launches her explosive mix of breakbeats, electro and IDM. IGGOR Cavalera brings his rich musical past and his current approach to experimental electronics through analog modular equipment and drum pads. AMR opens the scene with its unique blend of music drone and noise.
On the second day of Borderline 2025, diving on DJ sets and live performances that are aimed at both the soul and the body. At Ground Level, Pinna Bounce is experimenting with the engraving of narratives and spaces through the use of trumpets, keys, objects, amplifiers and everything else that serves its inspiration. The enigmatic figure of DJ Sex presents one of its extremely rare and unpredictable live appearances. Finally, Turbo Teeth introduces us to his disorderly, highly playful and structured approach to Broken Electronics. In the basement, Joy Orbison brings his huge album with British hybrid music, leading the garage, bass and countless other styles to the future. Bill Kouligas and Forensis (Forensic Architecture) present their audiovisual performance “The Drum and the Bird”, examining the relationship between lost ecologies and colonial exploitation. Dub Techno legend and co -founder of Basic Channel, Moritz von Oswald, presents his latest release, “Silencio”. Madam X, recently released its successful debut, “Homecoming”, which presented its tour around the world, sets fire to Dancefloor with its characteristic blend of all kinds of bass. Our Echo Canyon from Athens presents live its futuristic version in Footwork, Jungle, IDM and much more.
Borderline, in its 14th year, comes to seal the theory that music is a force that can exceed any limit.
