Between its mountainous tumors Aitoloakarnania and her Evritania Created in 1965 the Lakethe largest artificial lake in Greece.

If you are in the area, it is worth making a visit to the historical Tatar’s Monastery, Located near the village of Tripotamos Evritania and has spectacular views of the lake of Kremasta and the opposite mountains of Valtos. The tradition places the founding of the monastery in the 12th century. In particular in 1,111 AD Many old people called it “royal”, while St. Theodora of Arta was decisively contributed decisively. The special name of the monastery (Tatar or Tenth) probably means “space for human or animals”.

During the Turkish occupation, the monastery developed intense resistance action and suffered many disasters. Today, the Museum of the Monastery is preserved many relics, such as vestments, gospels, images, including the candle offered by Katsantonis (heroic thief of Agrafa and Valtos), in fulfillment of a trumpet.
