At the Mavromati Folklore Museum “G. Karaiskakis”, personal belongings and weapons of the hero of the Greek Revolution are exhibited
The silver personnel of the Chief of the Greek Revolution of 1821, Georgiou Karaiskakishis weapons, weapons of 21 ‘Kariofilia, buttons, swords, yatagania, hosts the Historical-Folklore Museum of Mavromati’ G. KARAISKAKIS »founded and organized by the Mavromati Karditsa Cultural Association” KARAISKAKIS “in 2000.

Karaiskakis, who in 1884 was also a member of Karditsa. The photo and other family relics such as various unique documents were donated by the descendant of the hero Mr. Ioannis Leonidas Karaiskakis. There are also objects of daily use of our ancestors of 1715.
When received by the museum manager, the objects are recorded in a triplic type book, in a book identification book, photographed, description, such as its use, weight, construction material, and is recorded in a photo book with the above description, and at the same time becomes a first. If an object already exists in our museum this is recorded separately and goes to storage, or exchanged with another object of another museum. In recent years, visitors have increased sharply on a daily basis from many areas of our country, mainly with visitors to children of elementary schools, high schools and high schools and various other schools but also individual groups making the black place of historical and religious tourism.

According to the French consul of Ioannina Pukevil, Mavromati in 1800, as Mr Yiotis points out, had 100 families of about 400 inhabitants. After liberation, the population began to grow rapidly. In 1881 they became 850, 1889 950, 1896 1091, and in 1907 1862, along with the 70 inhabitants of the now dissolved Kyurka settlement.
The Mavromati Karditsa Cultural Association “Karaiskakis” was founded by 1967 and is based in its historic village Karditsa who is the birthplace of the 21st hero Georgios Karaiskakis. Mavromati has 1,700 inhabitants is located at the foot of the historic Agrafa and is the historic headquarters of the Municipality of Mouzaki. The Association began its activities in order to help social, economic, cultural development as well as the concentration and preservation of archaeological and historical material of Mavromati, as well as the surrounding area. It contributes to the preservation of our cultural heritage, our local tradition, and the wider Greece. It operates with over 200 registered members and has 3 dance sections.
With great care it maintains and enriches the section with traditional costumes. He has created at his own expense the Folklore and Historical Museum with rare exhibits concerning G. Karaiskakis, costumes, agricultural tools, and woven. He has also organized a blood bank with the participation of residents of Mavromati and the wider area. Finally, he organizes and participates in various cultural events throughout Greece and is the birthplace of the pioneer windshield in Greece and the world of Kostas Katsogiannou.
