A definitive solution to the chronic problem of the inadequate sewer network and the management of Hydra Wastewater is given by the signing of the relevant contract, between Attica Regional Governor Nikos Chardalia and the mayor of the island, George Koukoudakis.

The project, with a total budget of 4.45 million euros (pre-VAT), is funded by the Operational Program “Transport Infrastructure, Environment and Sustainable Development” (EP-IMMEPERA) and concerns the completion of sewage infrastructure in the district Kaminialocated west of the central port, as well as in the wider area of ​​the stadium, in the southeastern part of the settlement.

With its implementation, Hydra acquires a contemporary and effective sewer systemwhich ensures the rational management of urban waste water, by contributing decisively to public health, protection of the marine ecosystem and the sustainable development of the island.

The technical details of the project

For the Kaminia district, construction is foreseen:

  • Central sewage collector, 340.5 m long.
  • Secondary Network of sewage, with a total length of 4.38 km.
  • 459 Visit wells
  • Two underground pumping stations
  • Two sewage conductors, 506.5 m long.
  • Incorcation to the existing network, 272 m long.
  • as well as the supply and placement of 459 network visit wells.

For the area of ​​the stadium, the project includes:

  • Central sewage collectors, totaling 792 m.
  • A secondary network of seeds, 0.99 km long,
  • 169 Visit wells
