by

Ben Affleck, 52, surprised fans by revealing that he faced difficulties by playing Batman in one of the superhero franchise films. The actor said he had a difficult time during the recordings of “Batman vs. Superman: The Origin of Justice” (2016) due to personal problems, such as the end of her 10 -year marriage to actress Jennifer Garner, mother of her three children. In addition, he faced a troubled period in relation to alcoholism, with passages with rehabilitation clinics.

Affleck recalled that 2016 was a particularly challenging year and how it impacted his professional life. “I took this unhappiness to work every day. I didn’t cause problems, but it was, I did my job and left. You were suffered {the experience]. You need to offer a little more than that.”

Still, the actor said he had “loved” to bring the dark knight to life in five productions. He played Batman in “Batman vs. Superman: The Origin of Justice”, “Suicide Squad” (2016), “Justice League” (2017), “Justice League of Zack Snyde” R (2021) and “The Flash” (2023).

According to a report in The Daily Mail, Affleck expressed his passion for the character, while reflected on the failure of the approach he and Zack Snyder gave the hero.

“I loved making the movies. I loved ‘Batman vs. Superman’, I liked my brief participation in ‘The Flash’ and my quick partnership with Viola Davis for a couple of days of work on ‘Suicide Squad’,” said the actor. Then he added his assessment: “What happened was that Batman began to look too old to a large part of the audience. Until my own son, at the time, was afraid to watch the movie. And when I saw it, I thought, ‘Ah, shit, we have a problem.'”
