Model and host Carol Ribeiro, 45, says she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a chronic neurological disease that affects the central nervous system and has no cure.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine, he said that at first he thought the effects he felt were a consequence of menopause. So, he decided to see a doctor.
“When doctors checked hormones, I thought: If this is menopause, all women are going crazy. It was very little to go to a psychiatrist. That’s when the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis came,” she said when she said that every day she felt “something weird.”
The top deals with the disease since 2023, but only now has it decided to talk about it. According to her, the treatment involves hormones, therapy and exercise.
“After I started treatment, I don’t feel anything anymore, it’s like the disease no longer existed. So it’s important to look inside you even if it’s a few minutes at bath or lunch time. These outputs to listen can be different for each of us, but they are important for us to find each other,” he said.
According to data from ABEM (Brazilian Association of Multiple Sclerosis), about 40,000 Brazilians live with the disease, of which 85% of this amount of young women, between 18 and 30 years old.
In addition to Carol, other famous ones have revealed that they suffer from sclerosis, such as actresses Claudia Rodrigues, Ludmila Dayer, Ana Beatriz Nogueira and Guta Stresser.
