Elizabeth Street Garden – the “Sculpture Garden” in the Manhattan “Little Italy” district – for years has been a community gathering for artists and residents of the city.

This is the “hidden” diamond of New York, which only locals, bohemians and “sought -after” visitors know.

It is a small park – a passage, crammed between the buildings of the district, which has no glamor with the famous New York parks, such as Central Park in the heart of the Great Milos and Botanic Garden, the Broypin Botanical Garden.

This small garden has become famous for the statues that adorn it and for its dense shadow offers dew bosses – an oasis of tranquility in the bustling Little Italy.

However, the Municipal Authority – which holds the land – announced reflected plans to transform the park into a “urban oasis”, a move against the locals, but also soo’s indulgences such as Patti Smith, Robert De Niro and Martin.

Recently there was a gathering of residents trying to rescue the park, where Patti Smith also sang.

“The park is a completely unique public shelter, where art, nature, literature and activism are inhabited peacefully,” Pati Smith wrote in a letter in August 2024 to New York Mayor Eric Adams who puts pressure on the area.
