Megan Markle, wife of Prince Harry, revealed on Tuesday that she was diagnosed with postponement of preeclampsia after giving birth to one of her children, a condition she described as rare and scary.

In the first episode of her new Podcast entitled Confessions of a Female Founder, the Duchess of Sussex said she had to handle a “huge medical fear” without people knowing what was going on.

Britain’s National Health Service (NHS) states on its website that preeclampsia is a condition that affects certain pregnant women, usually during the second half of pregnancy or immediately after their baby is born, as Reuters reports.

Early signs of preeclampsia include high blood pressure and protein in the urine. In some cases, symptoms may include severe headaches, visual impairments, pain under the sides and vomiting, according to the British National Health Service.

“It’s so rare. And it’s so scary, “said Megan, who is a mother of two, describing the situation.

She did not say if she faced the medical complication after the birth of her son, five -year -old Archi, or her daughter Lilibet, who is three.

“These things are huge medical fears,” she said.

It is noted that the first guest of Megan’s Podcast was Whitney Wolfe Herd, Managing Director of the BUMBLE online dating platform. Herd told Podcast that she also suffered from the condition.

Britain’s National Health Service (NHS) states that many cases of preeclampsia are mild, but the situation can lead to serious complications for both the mother and the baby if not monitored and not treated.
