On Saturday, April 12, 2025, the official presentation of the work of British artist Anthony Gormley in Delos.

Rule II (2019), an anthropomorphic sculpture installation, was placed outside the Archaeological Museum of Delos and is the first work of contemporary art to be permanently exhibited in an archaeological site of Greece.

The project is a joint donation by NEON and Anthony Gormli, following the Sight exhibition organized by NEON on the island in 2019, with a common purpose of further disseminating and interaction between modern artistic creation and emblematic monuments and archaeological sites.

The original Rule was created by Gormli as a new commissioning by NEON, as part of the Sight exhibition on the island of Delos during May-October 2019.

Rule II (2019) will be permanently exhibited in the archaeological site as a reference point of the conversation between classical and modern culture. The permanent establishment of Anthony Gormli’s work in Delos is the first of a series of donations made by NEON to archaeological sites where he has previously organized exhibitions, in collaboration with the Ephorate of Antiquities.
