“Theater has always been a mirror of real life, sometimes precise and sometimes distorted, but always connected to the truth and the deeper nature of things. This real nature, of people and the world, the National Theater tries to mirror, setting up a mobile stage in different parts of the city for World Theater Day.

With his vehicle the explosive power and the immediacy of rap, o troupe of the show “Biderman and the Arsonists” by Max Fries presented at Teenage Tent of National Theater, takes to the streets and meets the public of the city, sings about today’s society and its sufferings, but also about the vision of a better world. He comments on the relentless topicality, the brutality of the war, but also all the small or big “fires” that seem to surround our world: from climate change to human alienation, nuclear weapons and social polarization.

And, as the sun sets, the troupe will enter the theater for the scheduled performance, just below, in Omonia, the historic Ziller building will be illuminated and the message of World Theater Day will resonate almost simultaneously from all stages.
The same day, the National Theater will allocate free of charge to the public of the city 30 tickets in citizens of Athens for the show “Troilus and Chrysiida” of William Shakespeare.
“Today no one can face the world and not be shocked by the brutality and pointless pain of war, by the struggle of humanity to get back on its feet after a long period of alarm, isolation and fear. World Days is an occasion to remember that there are values, institutions and constants that unite all the people of the world. Every year, on this day, the message of a great artist is translated into more than 50 languages ​​and is heard loudly in thousands of theaters around the world. May this sense of unity, solidarity, co-creation and connection embrace our world again.
