Bruno Aiub, 31, better known as Monark, announced this Wednesday (23) that he is “coming back from vacation”. The youtuber said, via Instagram Stories, that he will have a new podcast and will soon make “an important announcement” to explain the project.
“I’m getting back to work,” he said, showing the room where the new podcast should be recorded. “Very soon I’ll start my podcast again. It’s a new podcast this time. And I’m counting on all of you there, with your audience, for us to continue having nice conversations and to do what I love, which is what I want do”.
On Tuesday afternoon (22), he had already announced on Twitter his return. “My vacation is over, get ready I’m back, now with more freedom than ever!”, he wrote.
In the following tweet, he even talked about “censorship” when commenting on the arrival of the video platform Rumble in Brazil. That’s because, in mid-February, after defending the right to have a Nazi party in Brazil and being disconnected from the Flow podcast, the podcaster said that YouTube suspended the monetization of his channel on the platform and prohibited him from creating a new one to circumvent the restriction.
This means that he is no longer able to earn money on the platform. The measure is valid indefinitely and also includes old videos published by the presenter.
“I am suffering political persecution. They forbade me to create a new channel in order to continue my life, powerful people want to destroy me. Freedom of expression is dead,” he wrote on Twitter at the time. Monetization is how youtubers are paid — it happens in different ways, such as views and clicks on advertisements displayed on videos.
UNDERSTAND THE CASE
On February 7, Monark received federal deputies Kim Kataguiri (Podemos) and Tabata Amaral (PSB) on the Flow Podcast when he stated that “the radical left has much more space than the radical right”. “The two had to have space, in my opinion. I think the Nazi had to have the Nazi party recognized by law”, she said.
The next day, after the backlash and loss of sponsors, he was dropped from the Flow Podcast. Flow Studios also released a statement apologizing, “especially to the Jewish community”, and informing about the withdrawal of the episode.
