Mario Frias defends Cauã Reymond and Critica Globo: ‘Being a man became a crime’

Federal Deputy Mario Frias (PL-SP) published a text on his official profile at X, which comes out in defense of Cauã Reymond, involved in controversies behind the scenes of the remake of “Vale Tudo”. Frias claims that César Ribeiro’s interpreter in the Globo soap opera has been persecuted by “an ideological crusade against masculinity in Brazil”.

He calls Cauã a “solid values ​​defender” and states that the actor had his name “dragged by headlines and digital lynchings” for expressing behaviors that the parliamentarian defines as “firm and male”. “What is underway is not justice, but a systematic cancellation of men who show strength, leadership and clarity. They want to turn these qualities into defects. New morality requires a passive, silent, almost embarrassed man to exist,” he wrote.

Mario Frias, who was the protagonist of the soap opera “Malhação” in the late 1990s, criticized the station. “Globo, instead of protecting its team against defamation campaigns and ideological shows, cowardly and acts as an auxiliary arm of a new moral code, where being a man is already a crime.”

The deputy also recalled the episode involving actor Jose Mayer, who faced accusations of harassment in 2017. For him, the former colleague would have been the victim of a “carefully assembled staging to meet the narrative of radical feminism” and lamented, “For years, the truth has come to light, but his career never reached.”

Finally, Frias pointed out what he considers to be the motivation behind the controversy with Cauã Reymond: “The mission is clear: to disfigure the identity of man until it becomes irrelevant – and, with it, the family, the paternal authority and the values ​​that support society. New morality requires a passive, silent, almost enclosed man.”
