Who is Max Tovar, Anitta Shaman who teaches ‘reprogramming’ the brain

Two years ago Anitta sought, by referral of friends, the work of Max Tovar. The singer, who was looking for self -knowledge and improvements in emotional and physical health, said that the spiritual mentor helped her “turn a key” that changed her life.

Self -adenominated shaman and integrative therapist specializing in energy cosmology, Max serves famous and anonymous in his place in Monsignor Paulo, in the interior of Minas Gerais, for over 30 years. Angelica, Juliette, Thiaguinho, Carol Peixinho, Fernanda Souza and Wanessa Camargo are among the goers of the site.

Started in Shamanism in 1989 with Argentine Juan Oviedo, Max works on the “gestational map” line. In a testimonial on YouTube, actress and host Fernanda Souza states: “It is the most powerful tool I have ever known.”

In his videos on the platform, where he has 14,000 subscribers, Max sails for a mix of shamanic meditations, prayers of Catholic saints and motivational phrases. “There are people who were born with genetics to be happy, others need to train,” she says in a video, attributing the phrase to Dalai Lama.

Autopilot life

According to the shaman, our brain is programmed from situations we still live in the womb. “The energy climate that the father and mother were from fertilization to birth implies pre-registered programming that will lead the individual to reproduce it in life unconsciously,” explains Max.

The therapy therefore consists of “reprogramming” the person so that they leave the “autopilot” and have a responsible and active posture in relation to their own life.

According to Max, the search for people are people who are without definition of a purpose, or “have already made material achievements and life has been in the emptiness,” he says. She also lists people with any kind of emotional conflict, difficulty getting pregnant, seeking meaning in life, in a state of deep sadness, with life impeding her own, people who want to expand consciousness or who want to develop their purpose in the world.

Max works with collective therapies, individual mentoring, retreats, immersions and also works in companies. “These are training to enhance intelligences and develop a broader neuroplasticity so that the individual becomes a manager of his own life,” he explains.

‘Magic is inside us’

In 2023, Anitta spent five days in a Max retreat, without cell phone and without contact with the outside world. She says she got out of there, changed her “way of being” and was almost a year without sex. The following year, he revealed to be a Candomblé practitioner. He made a clip showing images of religion and faced followers reprisals.

Max Tovar explains that there is no religious conflict between his therapies and any other spiritual practice. “Our process has nothing to do with religion. I get people from Umbanda, Candomblé, Spiritist, Buddhist. Shamanism is the relationship with the elements of nature. Magic is within us,” he explains.

Recently, Anitta returned to share moments at Sítio de Max, where she even celebrated her birthday. Along with Angelica and Juliette, she participated in the ritual of the equinox.

The photos ended up generating jokes and memes on the internet. It was said that the singer’s next show would be watered with incense of Palo Santo, beads of beads and dresses with Indian print. In one of the memes, a group of young bare hippies sings the chorus “in the enchanted forest”, with guitar and rattle. “Anitta’s rehearsal next year will be like this,” joke a netizen at X.

In March this year, the singer canceled, without much explanation, her participation in Coachella, a music festival considered one of the main ones in the world. Fans did not understand why. At the time, it was speculated that the cancellation of the show would have been an orientation of Max. Anitta doesn’t talk about it.

The shaman responds smoothly to the “haters” accusations. “They say it’s a sect, brainwashing, macabre rituals. But neither Jesus pleased everyone. People are tied in their own pain.”
