The Prince of Wales and his wife, Katherine, celebrate, on Tuesday (29), their 14th wedding anniversary on a Scottish island, in the region where their love story began when they were students.
Now that the 43 -year -old princess is recovering from cancer over which no detail has been released, the couple has been foreseeing two days on the island of Mull, on the interior hebrids (western Scotland) on their most distant trip since the Kate cancer announcement in March 2024.
They will meet with the local population during the visit to a handicraft market in Tobermory, small port with multicolored houses, and then on a traditional sheep breeding farm.
A meeting with forest guards and students participating in an outdoor environmental initiation program, expensive to the couple, is also planned, according to the agenda released by the Kensington Palace. The meetings will generally be short to preserve the health of the princess.
According to British newspapers, William and Kate, whose titles in Scotland are Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, chose to stay in an isolated cabin on this island of 3,000 inhabitants, which lives from tourism, fishing and agriculture.
They will complete the trip on Wednesday, traveling on a ferry to the small neighboring island of Iona, which has 170 inhabitants and receives 130,000 visitors a year.
Kate and William, 42, met in Scotland 20 years ago while studying at St. Andrews University in the northwest of Edinburgh.
His pompous marriage, accompanied by millions of viewers around the world, was celebrated at the Westminster Abbey in London on April 29, 2011.
The couple has three children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 7.
