Two new episodes Happy Traveler this week with our travelers completing their journey to Rose and then to visit the Halki. On Saturday, May 3 at 5pm, the third and final part of the Rhodes trek leads travelers to the lush mountain inland of the island. They leave the beaches with emerald waters and climb up the mountains to discover hidden beauties in nature.

The adventure begins in the seven springs, a magnificent location in the woods, where they cross the historic tunnel made by the Italians about 100 years ago, with the aim of watering the nearby plain.

They then visit the picturesque village of Archipoli with hospitable residents and traditional houses and pass through an authentic donkeys and other animals, where they try local delicacies: meloni, fresh fruit and rhodian honey.

The route brings them to Eleousa, where they explore the abandoned Italian sanatorium, a ghost building with a special history. On the mountain of Prophet Elias, they meet one of the most distinctive sights on the island: the mysterious and ruined “Villa Mussolini”, hidden in the dense forest. The journey ends with a visit to the Valley with butterflies, northwest of Rhodes – a magnificent landscape with a breathtaking natural spectacle.

On Sunday, May 4 at 5pm, a new adventure begins for our travelers and this time leads them to Halki – a small island diamond that hides so much beauty, history and authenticity, as few places in Greece! Arriving at the natural harbor of the island, they are welcomed by Niborio, the only and enchanting settlement of Halki. Multicolored neoclassical houses, picturesque alleys, pebble courtyards and a port of postcard spread out amphitheatrically around the turquoise waters. They stand at the 19th -century iconic town hall and the imposing watch tower, before crossing the door of the traditional Halki home. They sail with a boat for idyllic beaches, steep shores and crystal clear waters – Halki shows its most untouched beauties! The adventure continues from Pontamos beach in the old, abandoned medieval village, perched on the hill – a journey back in time, in times of piracy and legends. From there, they head to the monastery of St. John of Alaga, where the look is filled with blue and white, while in the enclosure it dominates an imposing cypress, a centuries -old symbol. The best part of the journey is left for the end: dawn rise to the Castle of the Knights, the most epic point of the island to enjoy a sunrise engraved in the mind – one moment, one of those who loved the Happy Traveler and make our travelers want to get to know each other.
