Brother of singer Nana Caymmi, one of the greatest interpreters of the Brazilian song who died last Thursday (1st), Danilo Caymmi used social networks to say that her political positions were superficial.
Nana had a critical posture to Lula and PT and supported Jair Bolsonaro (PL). In 2019, in an interview with Folha, he even said that it was unfair not to give Bolsonaro a reliable credit. “A man who was fucked, stabbed, running to make a ministry, without the whole mutt … just taking PMDB and PT is already a guarantee that life will improve,” he said at the time.
In her profile, Danilo pondered that her sister was manipulated and that she had no knowledge about the things she spoke and thought about it.
“Her political opinion was completely superficial, I didn’t have this depth. I tell people who like Nana, the artists she offended in a certain way that it was very difficult for us. Anyway, it was very superficial,” he said.
“I think she was, in a way, manipulated about these things. It’s very difficult for me to see this political use in a polarized Brazil,” said Danilo.
According to him, Nana had no cell phone, email or social network and would be oblivious to events for at least ten years.
The death of Nana Caymmi, at the age of 84, was not commented by President Lula, as he usually does with artists. Former President Jair Bolsonaro provided solidarity with his X profile.
