Lea Michele, 38, decided to face one of the oldest rumors circulating on her. Participating in the Therapuss Podcast, released on Thursday (8), Glee’s star speaks for the first time more open about the viral rumor that it would be illiterate-and behind the scenes, he would have decorated his lines with the help of assistants who read the scripts for her.

Early in the interview, host Jake Shane delivers a series of cards with questions sent by fan. Without hesitation, she reads one of the questions out loud: “What does this word say?”, Ironizing the situation.

In a good mood, she continues to read the other cards and, in a challenging tone, looked at the camera, “See?”

Despite the fun reaction, Michele does not hide that the rumor moves his emotions. “It depends a lot on the day. Sometimes I find hilarious. I think, ‘Wow, the person has so little to do in life who decides to waste time creating this kind of story about me.’

However, the actress also tells the most painful side of history. She explains that the subject touches a very personal question related to her origins.

“There are times when I am very frustrated, because I am one of the few women in my family who managed to enter college. My mother and her family came from a reality of extreme poverty, with little education. My parents fought a lot for me to have access to a good school, moving from Bronx to New Jersey. Each achievement was a source of pride, especially for my grandmother,” he says.

The actress also states that in her view it is very sad to have it erased for inventions of the internet. In addition, he feels that his effort was erased. “It’s very sad, in the end I end up taking it very seriously,” he adds.

The rumor, which began in 2015 as a joke in Glee fan groups, has gained unexpected proportions over the years. Even though she was already denied by colleagues and by herself, the subject turns and moves back to social networks.
