Bets CPI aims new influencers after Virginia and Rico’s call; See who they are

After calling names such as Virginia Fonseca and Rico Melquiades, Bets’s Parliamentary Inquiry Committee (CPI) should hear other digital influencers and artists who have somehow involved online betting platforms.

Names like Gusttavo Lima, Gkay, Tirulipa, Wesley Safadão, among others.

Created at the end of 2024, CPI investigates how the growth of digital betting homes impacts the budget of Brazilian families and whether there is evidence of financial crimes or irregular advertising.

With an expected duration of up to 130 days and budget of R $ 110 thousand, the commission is chaired by Senator Dr. Hiran (PP-RR), who organizes the hearings. To date, the calendar of the next sessions has not been released.

In all, 18 influencers were summoned or invited. The Senate differentiates between summoned as investigated – which can, according to STF and STJ decisions, choose not to attend. Witnesses are required to testify, although they can judicially obtain the right to silence.

Among those investigated is singer Gusttavo Lima, quoted for his involvement in advertising campaigns with companies in the sector. According to Senator Soraya Thronicke (Somos-RS), author of the request, the call seeks to clarify possible irregularities, suspicious receipts or bond with companies barred by the government.

Wesley Safadão appears for the same reason: his popular image would have been used massively on digital marketing actions for betting platforms. Another prominent name is the humorist Tirulipa, who had his home target and seizure in 2022 for alleged bond with companies investigated for financial crimes.

The list also includes Jojo Toddynho, investigated for promoting a betting company facing lawsuits; GKAY, called for using your visibility to promote gambling; and Jon Vlogs, accused of owning a bookmaker and leading aggressive campaigns to promote the service.

In addition to them, Pâmela Drudi (suspected of being ambassador of a BET), Kaka Diniz (entrepreneur of betting influencers) were summoned, and former BBB Felipe Prior, whose contract with a platform would indicate users’ losses-which raised suspicions about abusive practices and manipulation.

Other names draw attention: Solange Bezerra, mother of Deolane Bezerra, who was arrested with her daughter. Chefinho, son of Deolane, was also summoned to explain his role in the promotion of websites.

Rodrigo Mussi, former BBB, appears on the list for suspected association with a BET investigated for money laundering and handling results.

Already as witnesses are influencer Viih Tube and former BBB Eliezer, his husband. The CPI wants to understand how the advertising made by them may have contributed to normalizing or covering up questionable practices in online bets.

Felipe Neto and Mayk Santos were just invited – or are they not required to attend. Felipe even admitted that his partnership with a bookmaker in 2023 was “one of the greatest career errors”. Mayk can be heard to report his experience with the public and the scope of disclosures.
