The return of Britney Spears, 43, to the spotlight is not always for their songs. This time, the singer star in another controversial episode aboard a private plane.
According to the TMZ website, the artist had to provide clarification to the US authorities after being caught smoking and consuming alcohol during a flight from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, towards Los Angeles last Thursday (22).
The trip was attended by Britney’s security guards, who, according to witnesses heard by the site, did not interfere with the artist’s conduct. During the flight, the singer lit a cigarette – which is prohibited by air safety standards.
She would have been warned by the flight attendants and deleted the cigarette, but the attitude was considered severe enough to justify the presence of authorities at the airport when landing.
As soon as the jet landed, Britney was approached by the authorities and formally warned. Also according to TMZ, after the conversation, it was released without further legal consequences.
The artist’s aircraft belongs to JSX, a company that offers no scales on executive jets in the United States. Sought by the American website, the company stated that “had no comments on the alleged events described.” Los Angeles police have not officially responded to the case so far.
This is not an isolated incident. In December 2024, during the celebrations of her 43rd birthday, the singer had already been rebuked for lighting a lighter during a similar flight, also in a private jet.
