Thelma Assis, or simply Thelminha, was one of the celebrities who were present this Saturday (26) at Lollapalooza Brasil 2022. The BBB 20 (Globo) champion said she missed being able to watch shows like the festival.
“I’m a person who loves this social life,” he told F5. “I love dancing, I love music, I love art. Like everyone else, I was thirsty for an event as big as this one. I left BBB with a totally different post. We found a totally different world. But I think I ended up focusing on others priorities and now it’s time to prioritize this social side, which is also very nice.”
The doctor said she didn’t have a favorite artist to accompany during the event. “I’m everyone’s fan,” she assured her. “I want to go a little bit on each stage. It’s my first Lolla ever, I’ve never been there. I’m very eclectic, so I’m open.”
Thelminha showed to be happy with the political tone that some of the presentations had. “Our culture is very undervalued, especially by our current government,” she lamented.
“Seeing a Brazilian woman at the top of the world, as we saw Anitta, is very gratifying and is a victory for all of us”, she explained. “It’s a collective effort. As she said, it became the World Cup. And we have to have that same notion of collective when voting so that we can appreciate our culture more.”
She also commented that she often uses her own social networks to discuss topics she considers important. “I think when we become a public figure, we have to use it in a positive way,” she said.
“I decided to focus on social agendas, which is what people who identify with me, who are women, black women, who are the basis of society, and talk about everything I agree with, what I don’t agree with” , he said.
“I think we have to use a social network for this, to discuss day-to-day issues, for the agendas of militancy, which are important indeed, and for doing politics too”, he continued. “That’s politics, we talk, discuss.”
She also explained that she feels like she represents a lot of people and, therefore, she can’t let some situations go by. “For racial slurs and racism, people who are public figures and representatives of many people who identify with me cannot [deixar passar]”, he said.
“I don’t just do it for myself, I do it for the people who identify themselves and who feel offended too”, he said. “Every time a racist bumps into me, he will be prosecuted.”
Thelminha also said that it is very nice to be able to exchange with people who see her as a reference. “All these stories move me a lot,” she said. “And it’s for these people that I continue, that I put my story in a book and I’ve had very good and positive feedback.”
About the R$ 1.5 million prize she won at BBB 20, she revealed that she still hasn’t touched a single penny of the money. “The prize is saved to bear good fruit, I didn’t touch it”, she said. “Financial education that we should have since school and I felt it in my skin after I was on overdraft like many Brazilians. Today I learned.”
She said that one of the things she would have liked to do with the money is travel, but she still hasn’t been able to. “Travel I think is the best investment, but the pandemic ended up depriving us of a lot of that”, she lamented. “But I really want to travel and take my mother too.”
