United Airlines and JetBlue Airways announced an agreement on Thursday morning, which concerns frequent passengers’ privileges and the sale of one airline’s tickets on the other website.

If approved by regulators, the deal, called ” Blue Sky ”, will allow United Mileageplus members and Jetblue’s Trueblue members to win and redeem miles on more ‘more’ flights by the other airline, according to a statement from air transporters such as CNN. Frequent passenger privileges, including boarding priority, free luggage and preferred seats will be offered when passengers travel with the aircraft of the other airline. More details will be announced later this year, the announcement notes.

Airlines will remain separate companies and manage and invoice their flights independently, the announcement said.
