Autopsy on the works carried out in the Archaeological Site of Delphi was carried out by the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni.

The projects relate to the fundamental repair of the Conference Center of the European Cultural Center of Delphi, the performance of new sections of the archaeological site and the upgrading of the public’s host infrastructure and service, as well as the shielding of the archaeological site from rainfall, due to its rainy.

The Conference Group of the European Cultural Center of Delphi, which connects the unique Delphi landscape with Europe, is in an area of ​​100 acres and includes a conference center, a hostel and an outdoor theater. The complex of the Conference Center and the Hostel was built, in the mid -1960s, in plans by Kostas Kitsikis and Antonis Lampakis. Is a typical architectural sample of Fashionable movemente. The conference center has two main and four auxiliary meeting rooms, library and secretariat venues, as well as a multipurpose ground room, suitable for exhibitions and seminars. In the building, its renovation work, with a budget of approximately € 11,000,000, are in full swing.

The Delphi Museum building completed the renovation of the store’s store by the Cultural Resources Management and Development Organization, while the construction of a new shop at the entrance to the archaeological site, budget of 800,000 euros, is ongoing. At the same time, the task of constructing a new ticket office and reception of visitors begins. The aim of the Ministry of Culture and ODAP is to build more user -friendly infrastructure for thousands of visitors to the archaeological site.

After the autopsies in all works, Lina Mendoni said: “In Delphi, a global historical and cultural landmark, a cultural pole that attracts visitors from Greece and abroad, throughout the year, are evolving major projects implemented by the Ministry of Culture with its competent services, with a total budget of more than 25,000 euros – and more than 25,000 euros ” 2021-2027. They are projects that aim to shield monuments in the archaeological site of the risks arising from the climate crisis, but also to upgrade infrastructure and services to the public. The rehabilitation and promotion projects of new sections in the deceased archaeological site will contribute to the extension of the time of residence and visit to Delphi. In the Delphi archaeological site executed by the Ephorate three new fastening projects, Rehabilitation and promotion, on monuments, with a total budget of approximately 3,000,000 euros, included in the Regional Operational Program “Central Greece”- NSRF 2021-2027. It is the complex of the Eastern Thermos, the western part of the ancient city of Delphi and the ancient Gymnasium. With the completion of the first two works, dozens of acres are attributed to the visiting archaeological site, which remain, so far, unacceptable to visitors, highlighting very important monuments of Hellenistic and Roman times. At the same time, it proceeds, with resources of the Region, the task of protecting and promoting the ancient theater, through a programmatic contract of cultural development, between the Ministry of Culture and the Region of Central Greece, with a budget of 1,700,000 euros.

The Department of Restoration of Ancient Monuments of the Ministry of Culture is performing the major task of dealing with the rock and shielding of the visiting archaeological site, with a budget of approximately 7,500,000 euros with TAA resources. This project is part of the National Strategic Plan to address the impact of climate change on our cultural heritage, implemented by the Ministry of Culture, with a completion horizon at the end of 2025.

The minister also spoke at the presentation of the bilingual photographic album “Delphi in the 1950s with the lens of Robert McCabe” with selected literary texts for Delphi, at the European Cultural Center, in the presence of Robert McCabe. The internationally renowned American photographer signs the post -war photographs included in the publication, but also an important text with which he approaches, with penetration and respect, his place and history.

In her address for the “precious friend of Greece”, Robert Mc Cabe, Lina noted that “with her look and the lens not only recorded, with unique and genuine sensitivity, visible and invisible shades and aspects of the Greek landscape, but in fact captured and captured by us.
