If you are a fan of Lady Gaga, you know that changes in her wool are not news, it’s a way of life. But this time, her new appearance with a huge, ICY Blonde Bouffant (yes, this inflatable, theatrical style that pop star adores) made the internet round, and not unjustly.

The change occurred on May 31, at a Netflix event, where Gaga posed in a velvety purple casket (because, of course). With her was Jenna Ortega, both of them seemed as if they came out of an alternative universe of Tim Burton. If you ask me, there is no better way to start pride.

By dark frames … to a frozen queen

Until now, we were used to Gaga with a short, black frame and strict goth braids. Suddenly, she appeared with a bouffant starting from her forehead and went up … to God. Seriously, it should have been at least 20 cm high. All this in a cold, platinum blonde, reminiscent of something between a 60s goddess and futuristic persona.

The look took off with bleached eyebrows, almost porcelain makeup and a touch … chaos: a blurred red lipstick in one end of the mouth, which broke the symmetry and accentuated the whole Sinners Meets Angels aesthetics.

Light, dark and gaga

Her hairdresser, Freddie Aspiras, had talked about this theme in coachella when Gaga appeared with another extreme hairstyle. He had then said that he wanted to express “duality, tension and harmony between light and darkness”. An earthy look, full of gothic elements. The other more airy, soft, almost heavenly.

We see something similar here: Her blinding blond hair reminiscent of a halo, while your makeup leaves an almost… goth taste. It’s glam, it’s punk, it’s gaga.

And you know what? We needed this dose of madness and theatricality to start summer properly. Why if Gaga doesn’t come out with a bouffant that touches the sky, what will it do?
