Humorist Leo Lins criticized host Marcos Mion on Wednesday (11) for retreating in the position against his conviction to eight years and three months in prison for comments considered discriminatory, made in a 2022 presentation and aired on YouTube.
“They are attacking Marcos Mion thinking that he defended me. I came here to clarify: Mion was never by my side. He defended freedom of expression. Then the militancy tightened, he cursed me and defended the contract with the brands,” he said in an Instagram post.
In a text also published on Instagram, the Globo host said he disagrees with Lins’s type of humor, but considered that censoring it is not the best solution.
After negative repercussion, Mion deleted the post and said that his intention was to criticize the curtailment of artistic freedom, even when the contents are “absurd”.
In an ironic tone, Lins said many would not have the courage that the presenter had “for three minutes.”
“I prefer to say the M… that I want than to be a ventriloquist doll with a company sticking my hand on my tail and stirring my mouth to say what she wants,” he added.
The humorist will appeal the decision of the court in freedom, with shows of the tour “buried alive” scheduled in more than 20 cities.
