Maíra Cardi, 38, spoke about the slap that actor Will Smith gave Chris Rock at the Oscars 2022 ceremony, this Sunday (27). The coach said that Rock’s comment about Smith’s wife, Jada, was a “lame, tasteless joke”, and that “it’s not nice to laugh at someone else’s pain”.
However, for her, the actor’s slap is unjustifiable. “Will Smith’s attitude was not nice”, began the coach in conversation with her followers on Instagram Stories this Monday (28).
“But from the moment that live and with an audience, a person gets up and hits the other, in addition to losing his reason and that’s obvious, we question how far this person’s emotional balance goes. And now he’s hitting her. And when he hits her?”
“That’s probably him, in his life,” Cardi continued, citing “a lack of emotional intelligence.” “When a person loses his mind, the other doesn’t need to lose it too, because then it becomes a mess, a lack of respect. Anyway, I think everything was wrong there”.
Later, the coach returned to Stories to talk about it. “That’s him. That’s what he teaches. Possibly he’s like that in his house”, citing also the speech of Smith’s son, Jaden. On Twitter, after the slap from Will, the young man commented: “This is how we do it”.
