Serifos is the 37th largest island in our country, with an area of 75,207 square kilometers and a length of 82 kilometers!

There we meet today 72 beaches, most of which are wild, virgin and disorganized, something that the locals decided about two decades ago, so as not to alter the beauty of the landscape, and not to follow the line that many islands had already adopted.

Some of them are accessible by car, some on foot, and there are some that you only approach by boat from the sea. But all of them are gorgeous and fascinate visitors from the very first dive! So let’s look at six of the most beautiful beaches on the island.

Good vineyard

This beautiful beach is on the southern coast of Serifos, and stands out for its turquoise waters and imposing, carved rocks surrounding it. The pure, golden sand shines in the sunlight, while its depth gradually increases. There are no shade trees on the beach, so if you choose it for a bath, you should definitely have an umbrella, hat, sunscreen and water with you.

Vaya

Following the road from Livadi to the bay of Koutala, it is the first beach you meet before Ganema and Koutala. The waters are crystal clear in emerald color, while the colored pebbles at the bottom make it ideal for a mask exploration. The beach has sand, but there are no trees for natural shade. So if you go there, make sure you are properly equipped.

Calf

This beach is located on the south side of Serifos, and specifically in the bay of Koutala, and is one of the largest coasts of the island. Half the beach is covered by sandy beach and is suitable for families, while the other half of white pebbles. Also, in much of the coast there are tamarisk trees that generously offer their shadow to the bathers.

Ai John

It is a golden sandy beach, located on the east side of the island and you will meet it on the road to Centarch. Its name is of course due to the picturesque chapel of St. John there. The golden, fine sand, the blue waters and the almonds create an extremely magnificent setting, representative of Cycladic charm.

Fine sand

Just next to St. John is another beautiful beach. And the reason of course for Psili Ammos, which is one of the most popular on the island. This beach was awarded the best beach in Europe a few years ago, and as testified its name has a slim, golden sandy beach, quite a rich shade and turquoise waters!

Saint

It is a windless sandy beach with blue waters, which for many is one of the most beautiful beaches of Serifos and not only! Next to it is another small bay with pebbles, while opposite the islet of Vou. It was named after the chapel of Agios Sostis on the side. A ride to the chapel is really worth it, and if you are in Serifos on September 6, do not forget to attend the festival set up there.
