Time passed and Kokimoto, the red -haired boy on his forehead who had a mess at the “Carousel” school about 12 years ago at SBT, grew and appeared – in a very different branch from the previous one. Today, the 21st years, he makes his life with perfumery.
It is as an influencer of fragrances that Matheus Ueta has been working since November last year. He left TV to succeed in quick platform videos like Instagram and Youtube. And the new endeavor is doing very well.
“Art in Brazil, if you have notoriety, yields you money. But much of the art class has no financial recognition. So, yes, I earn a lot more working on perfumery being a creator of content. It is an optimized job,” says Ueta.
Currently, he says he has over 600 perfumes in his collection. Every day, boxes and more brands are coming to some vials for advertising. However, he says he only accepts if he has total freedom of opinion. To do this, you need to try, to understand which notes are present, what he feels, and hear comments from those around before his opinion.
“At this point I have about 8 or 9 contracts in force with brands for monthly advertising, but without exclusivity. I need to feel and use every fragrance to pass people what I really think, because it is my credibility that is at stake. I do everything based on my freedom and transparency. If I do not like, I speak.”
Right in the first videos, Ueta reached 10 million views. Since then, it has started to invest heavily. He says he works with a team of publishers and a monthly planning of tasks, as well as attending events and partnering with other influencers. With the projection of the new business, he made the hobby his breadwinner and sought some courses to specialize even more.
In its more than 600 bottles stored in three cabinets there are some specials. Not only for the smell, but also for personal reasons.
“There are fragrances that refer to special moments of my personal life and that I have emotional attachment. Loewe Solo Cedro was the first I won my mother. And that was what I was using on the first international trip with my grandfather, and also on the first date with my girlfriend,” he recalls.
How to choose a perfume?
According to Ueta, those who want to buy a scent scent, that is, the one who wants to use every day, should know some things before going to the store (or the site). The first is to understand that smells are very personal and what goes well on skin may not surrender in another. It goes a lot of feeling and taste.
But there are some questions that should be evaluated when buying for a good understanding of the fragrance.
“An easy tip for everyone to remember: fresh perfumes are for everyday life and heat. Already those hot, more woody and intense, with vanilla and sweeter notes, are for night and cold,” he says.
He explains that fresh ones fix less on the skin, unlike hot. Therefore, it is not recommended to spray a heavy aroma for officers, for example. “Subscription perfume has to be the one that works for you, it depends on your routine.”
The actor and influencer says that in a matter of a month, he intends to launch an ebook with practical tips to demystify and uncomplicate perfumery, with the idea of making terms more simplified. “What matters is the smell regardless of the nomenclature.”
‘I didn’t give up being an actor’
Known from the general public for playing the little boy Kokimoto in the children’s plot, he also acted in “The Childhood of Romeo and Juliet” (SBT, 2023). But it has migrated his career since last year. This, however, does not mean that he is out of the dramaturgy market.
“I will never stop being an actor, but right now I chose to become an entertainment communicator. If they call me to make a soap opera and I am available and really felt, I will do. I did not leave this area totally aside, only took another priority,” he says.
The actor and influencer says he keeps contact with some actors from the “Carousel” season, especially with Nicholas Torres, who lived Jaime, and Jean Paulo Campos, Cyril.
“When we always find myself ask me for advice on perfumes. Even other famous people send messages wanting tips. Among the humorist Rafael Portugal, who fell in love with this niche, and Ramon Alvarenga [percussionista] From the less group is more, “he explains.
