The 50th anniversary of Iron Maiden It will be celebrated with a new currency that will be released by the Royal Mint of the United Kingdom. The complex is currently on its European and British tour entitled ‘Run for Your Lives’which began with a concert on May 28 in Budapest.

Now, along with their tour, Iron Maiden are celebrating their 50th anniversary with a specially designed currency presented by the Royal Mint. Designed by artist Albert “Akirant” quirantes, the currency depicts Eddie in the center, the British Heavy Metal band mascot. There are also many references to the strong career of Iron Maiden in the currency.

The band’s manager, Rod Smolwood, said of the currency: “Having Eddie in an official UK currency is a continuation of his incredible odyssey since we discovered him in 1980. He has appeared in stamps, bottles of beer, airplanes and now on legal money! The detail that Akirant has managed to incorporate into the plan is excellent – there are small references to almost every chapter of our journey as a band. “ “It is really a great honor that the Royal Mint has chosen to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Iron Maiden in such a unique way” added.

Rebecca Morgan, from the Royal Mint, in Ladizand, South Wales, told the BBC that the currency is expected, which is a metal fusion to prove to be a collectible piece that will be particularly sought after. Quirantes said that the design of the coin was “one of the most exciting works” of his career.

“As a fan of the band and the original creations of Derek Riggs (artist who created Eddie) in the 1980s, I wanted to imprint not only their iconic image but also the revolutionary spirit that has determined their music for decades” He stressed.
