Property, Company and Cultural Heritage: the division of the goods of Preta Gil

It seems that the inventory process that corresponds to the division of goods and heritage of black Gil, who died at age 50, should be finalized within one month. This is what they say family law experts sought by the F5.

According to the lawyer specializing in Family Law, inheritances and family business Mérces da Silva Nunes, as Preta Gil had only one son (Francisco, 30, from the relationship with Otávio Muller), he is the direct and exclusive heir. And that makes the process simpler, because there are no other heirs to divide the heritage.

“As the singer’s son is of age, the inventory procedure can be done extrajudicially. This is a procedure performed directly to a notary to transfer the ownership of the goods left by a deceased person to his heirs. This modality is more agile and less bureaucratic and can take around 30 days,” he says.

When it comes to the artist’s musical heritage, it is the son who also inherits the copyright and can claim them as if he were. In the case of Preta, the child will receive the income of execution, sale and use of the work, as well as authorizing new projects related to the legacy of the mother.

For Tatiana Naumann, a lawyer in the areas of Family Law and Successions and a member of the Family Law Commission (CDF) of OAB/RJ, even the properties that Preta had in Bahia and Rio de Janeiro as investments, will go to the only child, “except if there is a willing testamentary in the different sense.” Thus, there is no risk of judicial disputes.

Preta Gil also had a company in the digital marketing company Mynd, one of the largest in the country that deals directly with the most famous influencers. She received monthly by shows and advertising campaigns. Experts reinforce that everything in its name will enter the inventory, including quotas of companies.

“Once again, Francis will decide whether to maintain the management of the mother, sells or passes to third parties. If the social contract allows the entry of successors, the son will fully receive the corporate part of Preta Gil. But otherwise, the singer’s assets will be determined and the corresponding amount will be paid to her heir,” explains Mérces da Silva Nunes.
