Junior Lima and Monica Benini shared a delicate news with fans on Tuesday (22): the couple’s daughter, Lara, three, was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome, a rare condition that affects the kidneys. In a video published on social networks, the two reported how the process was until the discovery and made a warning about the importance of early diagnosis.

“We started suspecting that Lara had an allergy. Her eye swelling, we took an allergist and pediatrician, until investigating we found out that it was nephrotic syndrome,” said Monica. The disease, characterized by excessive loss of protein by urine, can cause swelling throughout the body and, if untreated, bringing serious complications.

The treatment, according to the couple, is intense and not all children respond well. Junior, thrilled, revealed that the family went through difficult times until he received the good news: “Thank God, Lara responded well to treatment, is super well and in remission.”

In the video, the two pointed out that the purpose of public exposure is to alert other parents about the signs of the syndrome and seek investigation of other rare diseases. “If you notice something unusual with your child’s health, do not hesitate to seek medical advice. Quick identification makes all the difference,” the couple advised.

They also asked for good fans vibrations and said they are taking the necessary care to restore their daughter’s health, especially during Junior’s “Solo” tour. As part of the protocols, the use of masks will be maintained to avoid viruses and protect Lara, which has compromised immunity due to treatment.

In addition to Lara, the couple is also the father of Otto, 7 years old.
