Journalist Leilane Neubarth used her social networks to make an outburst about the behavior of some people during the quarter of Preta Gil, which took place on Friday (25) at the Rio de Janeiro municipal theater.

She criticized those who attended the scene with her cell phone, filming the singer’s farewell moment, who died at the age of 50 as a result of cancer.

“I can’t understand the people who go to a wake, such an exciting goodbye moment, with a phone in hand, recording as if it were a show, an event…” wrote Leilane. She said she was especially shocked when she observed the scene: “Taking the press people, who is there for obligation, the rest is amazed. People entering the cell phone recording, as if they were just there. At a time like this, we see what really matters for each one.”

The comment generated repercussion on social networks. Actor Luis Lobianco commented, “I saw it when you spoke and I was outraged together. The people addicted to mobile phones have completely lost humanity. Surreal.” Other public figures, such as Fafá de Belém and Astrid Fontenelle, also spoke in support of the journalist’s criticism.

Preta Gil’s wake was marked by great commotion. The singer’s body arrived around 7am, in a silver coffin, and was veiled in the theater foyer. The ceremony was open to the public until 13h; Then the space was reserved for family and close friends until 15h.

Fans of the singer, who gathered early in Cinelândia, paid their latest honors with flowers, posters and singing songs from the Black repertoire, which marked Brazilian music with irreverence, courage and presence.

“I hope that those who really love black will be saying goodbye with education and respect,” said the journalist.
