Tati Machado, 33, decided to talk publicly about the mourning he has lived since April, when he lost his baby, Rael, still in his belly, at eight months of gestation.
The interview was shown on Sunday (27), at Fantástico, and marked a moment of welcome and resumption for the presenter, who thrilled the audience with her sincere testimony.
“It’s not one day at a time. It’s one time at a time. Sometimes it’s one minute at a time. And it’s okay if it’s not okay,” he said, with his voice, during the conversation recorded at his home in Rio de Janeiro, next to her husband, producer Bruno Monteiro. Rael was the couple’s first child.
Tati said that in May, when he completed 33 weeks of pregnancy, he realized that the baby was no longer moving. The absence of movements led to the realization of what she called “the greatest nightmare of my life.”
Although she chose to preserve the medical details of the loss, she revealed that she was ready to give birth when unexpected complications arose that resulted in the baby’s death.
Known from the public for her appearances at the meeting and at Mais Você, the presenter shared moments of pregnancy on social networks and was excited about the arrival of her son. The commotion around the loss mobilized fans, co -workers and even anonymous people, who sent more than 50,000 messages of support, she said.
“I received a lot of love, even whom I never saw me personally. It sustained me. Bruno was my floor, my family, my fortress,” he said. “We will never be prepared for this kind of pain, but we have been trying to turn this void into something that moves us forward.”
In the first two months after the loss, Tati did up to five therapy sessions a week to deal with mourning. Now, gradually, it plans to resume work as a form of reunion with its own identity. “Being moving helps me breathe. The TV has always been my place of light, and I want to slow back this space.”
The return to the “meeting” should happen in the coming weeks, but without haste. The host said she is respecting and listening to her internal time. “Rael will always exist in me. He has transformed me forever. Now, we try to follow, the way it gives.”
