In addition to being recently indicted for seven crimes, including drug trafficking and qualified resistance. Rapper Oruam, son of Marcinho VP, one of the leaders of the Red Command, was fined by the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama) at R $ 40,500.

The singer was acted on two distinct occasions. The first one happened in 2023 for Oruam to keep four captive wild animals in his residence, including a red macaw, a parrot and a pregnant monkey and a Savannah F1-Feline fruit of the first generation hybrid between an African Serval and a domestic cat.

The artist was again fined in the same year for making environmental supervision difficult to meet the notification of Ibama.

Ibama started the investigation after a report registered on the Fala.br platform. According to the agency, the singer was notified and, even after the deadline, did not respond to requests for documentation of animals. Environmental infractions configure a threat to Brazil’s biodiversity regarding wild animal trafficking.

According to Ibama, so far, Oruam has not paid the fines. Wildlife trafficking, a crime by which he was investigated, is an environmental crime that can be fined and even detention, according to the Environmental Crimes Law (Law No. 9,605/1998).
