Taylor Swift announced her 12th studio album, “The Life of A Showgirl “after 24 intense hours of fan speculation (known as” swifties “).
The rumors began on Monday morning (11), when the singer’s marketing team posted a 12-photos gallery with the caption: “Thinking about when she said ‘I see you in the next age…'” (in reference to the name of the singer’s previous tour, The Eras Tour).
In the following hours, the singer’s boyfriend, football player Travis Kelce, confirmed that she would participate in his podcast, New Heights, at 7 pm in the east coast time zone (20h00 in Brasilia).
Swift’s 11th album, “The Tortured Poets Department”, released in 2024, broke the record of the most reproduced album digital platform in one day.
The title of the new album“The Life of a Showgirl “ (‘The Life of a Coronist’, in free translation) was announced on social networks with an excerpt from Kelce’s podcast. In addition, the album was also made available for pre-sale on the official Swift website.
Fans who ordered the new album in pre-sale received a message stating that shipping would occur before 13/10, but there was a warning that this “is not the release date.”
The official debut date of the new work has not yet been confirmed.
Taylor Swift accumulates a series of awards in his career: he was named artist of the decade by American Music Awards, is the best awarded artist of all time on MTV Video Music Awards And has won 14 Grammys, including an unprecedented feat of four album awards of the year.

After years of headlines during his record -breaking tour, Swift seemed to have had a relatively quiet start of 2025.
In May this year, it was announced that she had readjured the rights to her first six albums, ending a long and celebrated dispute for the ownership of her music.
The saga began in June 2019, when musical businessman Scooter Braun bought former Swift label, Big Machine, and with her all the songs from “Taylor Swift”, “Fearless”, “Speak Now”, “Red”, “1989” and “Reputation”.
Swift had personal objections to the deal, blaming Braun for complicity in what he classified as “incessant and manipulative bullying” against her by singer Kanye West, one of the businessman’s clients.
In the music industry, the owner of recording phonographic rights controls how it is distributed and licensed.
The artist still receives royalties (values paid for the use of music), but controlling the original recordings offers protection on how work is used in the future. This includes distributing it to streaming services, pressing new physical CDs and vinyls, creating a special collection or licensing music for movies or video games.
After selling his phonographic rights, Swift promised fans to resume control over his works and rewrite all six albums, which became known as Taylor’s Versions. So far, she has relaunched 4 of the 6 original albums.
Swift announced the purchase of his original recordings on an emotional letter to fans, in which he wrote that the last two albums would be relaunched “when the time was right.”
It is not known how much it cost Swift to acquire its phonographic rights, but the catalog was previously sold for $ 300 million in 2020.

The singer ended the Eras Tour in December 2024, after gathering about 10 million people in 149 shows in 53 cities, including Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro (passage marked by the death of a Brazilian fan at a show in November 2023).
In the United Kingdom, she performed for nearly 1.2 million people, including eight nights at Wembley Stadium. The tour had an estimated impact of £ 1 billion on the British economy and it was the impulse for Swift to have its billionaire status officially declared.
In 2023, Forbes magazine reported that Swift became the first musician to earn $ 1 billion (about $ 5.4 billion) exclusively with composition and performances.
Half of his fortune came from musical royalties and tours, while the rest came from the growing value of his musical catalog, including his rewrites.
Revisiting ancient material also inspired the Swift Eras Tour, which covers its entire career and raised more than $ 2 billion ($ 10.9 billion) in ticket sales between 2023 and 2024.
Change in ‘media approach’?
Announcing your new album on your current boyfriend’s podcast is an interesting attitude for Swift, as much of their previous compositions and catalog deals with their previous relationships.
It was widely released – although never confirmed – that his last album details his breakup with The 1975 singer Matty Health. Other ex-boyfriends, including Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal and John Mayer, were also regarded by fans as songs in the past.
The adjunct musical publisher of the British newspaper The Guardian, Laura Snapes, told BBC Radio 4’s Today program on Tuesday (12/08) that the subject “relationships” may have returned to the agenda.
“There is a leaked photo, supposedly, from the inside of the vinyl circulating, where you can see some blurred and out of focus letters,” said Snapes. “And there seems to be some things about love.”
“There may be something about the situation with your old label … It looks like she hasn’t stopped singing about it yet.”
The star she emphasized, “is famous for not giving interviews.” So, everything your fans hear from her “is straightforward”, whether through social networks or comments made on stage between the songs in their shows.
A new album is, therefore, as “an update about her life – what she has thought, what she has felt,” said Snapes, adding that it is “very interesting” that Swift has done the update this way.
She says the fact that she reveals details about her boyfriend’s new podcast release “looks quite loose – a way we can’t see her in public.”
“And I wonder if this will signal a change in your media approach, or if it’s just her boyfriend’s podcast?”
