‘He never gave up, he wants to live,’ says Luciana Cardoso about Faustão’s recovery

Luciana Cardoso, wife of Fausto Silva, spoke about the recovery of the presenter during the first edition of the João Festa, an event promoted by her firstborn son with the communicator, this Thursday (21), in Morumbi, in São Paulo.

Faustão, 75, is still admitted to the Israeli Hospital Albert Einstein, after undergoing two transplants – liver and kidney, the latter being a retransplantation held on August 7. According to Luciana, the presenter’s condition evolves positively.

“The medical part is supercerted. The first kidney transplant worked. This also worked from the beginning. Now is physical and emotional rehabilitation. There are still a few steps to follow, but thank God, he is alive!

The businesswoman also commented on the forecast of discharge: “I think in two weeks, if she has no complications. Luciana stressed the strength of the presenter during the process.” It’s one day at a time. This is the biggest teaching of this process, which has lasted two years. He is very strong. Everything he has gone through, his mental part is really firm. He never gave up, he wants to live. That makes a difference, “he said.

The last medical report about Faustão was released on August 18, stating that he had left the ICU on the 13th of the same month and was still in clinical follow -up. Luciana Cardoso and Fausto Silva have been married since 2002 and are parents of João and Rodrigo.

The presenter faces a recent history of health complications. In August 2023, he underwent a heart transplant after heart failure. Months later, in February 2024, he underwent a kidney transplant as a result of the aggravation of a chronic renal condition.

Since then, he has followed treatment under constant medical follow -up. He even held hemodialysis sessions until his clinical condition allowed the adoption of another protocol. In early 2025, he was hospitalized again due to an infection, but was high days later and followed treatment at home.
